Information for Parents

Here you'll find the information we think every parent needs to know. We're always happy to help so if you do have any questions please just contact us and we'll talk through them with you.

THE CHILD

Nurtured Nursery has children at the heart of all it does. The environment is designed in response to current research into brain development in babies and young children, so the impact is calming and peaceful. Experiences for learning are provided which promote the Characteristics of Effective Learning within the EYFS and promote the child’s development of creativity and thinking skills. Each child has a key person who pays particularly close attention to his/ her learning and development; a Learning Journal is kept containing observations and photographs documenting the child’s progress, which is always available for the child’s parents to peruse. These are also kept by parents after their child has outgrown the nursery, providing a lovely record of their time at Nurtured Nursery.

We constantly strive to improve our provision based on the needs of the children. In early 2022 the nursery underwent a large extension, which has provided a new spacious baby room, separate sensory room and expanded toddler room. All of the rooms open onto their own gardens so children can choose to play inside or outside throughout the day. This is in addition to our huge garden at the top of the grounds, which provides children with many open ended play opportunities in a natural wooded environment.

THE PARENT

The relationship with parents is valued enormously; parents are encouraged to come to as many settling in sessions with their child as they can manage prior to their child starting at Nurtured. This gives staff the opportunity to gather as much information about the child as possible, to ensure a smooth and cheerful transition into nursery. Once at nursery, the child’s parent or carer will have the opportunity for daily discussions with staff when they drop off or collect their child, ensuring information is shared to support the child and celebrate their nursery experiences.

THE STAFF

High regard is given to the quality of adults who interact and care for each child. Staff turnover is extremely low, staff are knowledgeable, well qualified and reflective upon best practice. Continuous professional development is undertaken to ensure all practitioners who interact with children have access to the latest thinking in early years, and are therefore able to provide exemplary childcare.

What Our Parents Say

“Our son recently started at Nurtured Nursery in the baby room and we cannot recommend this nursery enough. The staff are always happy, kind and helpful and will always go that extra mile. The facilities they have there are wonderful, with forest school for the older children, a lovely outdoor garden for the toddlers and a lovely outdoor patio area for the babies. The meals they give the children are amazing, we always joke that our son eats better at nursery than we do! Before we found Nurtured I couldn’t imagine ever feeling comfortable leaving our son at a nursery and going to work for the day but knowing they look after him so well and seeing how happy he is there has made that a much easier process. We particularly like the little review book the staff fill out each day that tells you exactly what he’s eaten/nappy changes/bottles etc. I honestly cannot recommend Nurtured Nursery enough.”

— Kayley-Ann R

“My little girl has had the best time at Nurtured.
She has made some fabulous friends that she will move onto school with.
She has also grown so much as a person and is achieving above and beyond thanks to the fabulous team that all look after her.
The level of care is outstanding as is their response to emails etc.
As excited as we are for the next chapter of school, I can honestly say I am going to miss the team at nurtured so very much.
If you want your little person to have a kind, loving and nurturing environment whilst you aren’t able to have them, then this is the perfect setting.”

— Sophie P

“Such a kind, gentle and understanding approach to childcare. One of the most potentially difficult things transformed into the most positive experience when deciding my daughter should start nursery. I feel she is cared for, nurtured and enjoyed in a way that makes us feel secure in our decision. She has an enriching time with the lovely, lovely staff.”

“Nurtured Nursery is everything that I wanted from a nursery and more. Caring and attentive staff who see caring for my daughter as something much more than a job.”
