Toddlers

At Nurtured Nursery, the toddlers are given plenty of space to help them learn, develop and grow.

They are encouraged to play, explore and investigate. Whether it’s dancing, singing or playing on the steps and slide, we help develop their movement skills and creativity. We make sure there’s plenty of outdoor play to keep them busy as well as painting, mark making and construction. We have a large toddler room so there’s always enough space to explore the wide variety of learning opportunities and creative materials. The adjacent sensory room offers different experiences for the developing children and doubles as a separate sleep room after lunch for those children who require it. We have regular yoga sessions which the children engage in with enthusiasm. One of the toddlers’ favourite places to visit is our ‘Top Garden’, which is also known as our forest school area, where there are opportunities to climb on climbing frames, explore the woodland, visit the horses who live in the field next door, share the basket swings with friends, play in our giant sand pit, navigate the muddy tunnels and create recipes in our large mud kitchen.

We encourage the children to make choices and begin to develop skills for their own independence.
