MEET THE TEAM!
I qualified as a teacher in 1991 and have worked with children ever since. I achieved a Level 3 in Forest School Leadership in 2011. It is so rewarding to be part of the formative development of young children as they blossom and grow into confident and knowledgeable 4 year olds. I enjoy spending time with my children in my spare time, and running with my husband and our dogs.
I am a qualified teacher and taught in Cambridge for four years before moving to Cornwall. I started working at nursery in 2009 as a practitioner, in 2010 I became manager and have really enjoyed working with parents and leading a team. It is my passion to provide exceptional care for children in an inspiring, warming, loving environment. I like exploring the outdoors with my husband and children.
I have worked in early years since 2001, with the same nursery team. I completed my degree in Early Childhood Studies with Early Years Professional Status in 2010. I particularly enjoy watching children flourish and grow, knowing that we are giving them the best start possible. At home I enjoy spending time with family and friends and making the most of the outdoors in Cornwall.
I completed my degree in Early Childhood Studies in the summer of 2017. The most rewarding part of working in early years is that every day is different, with new challenges and a fresh set of rewards, as it’s the little things that matter most. I’m originally from Suffolk and moved to Cornwall in 2013. I enjoy exploring Cornwall, weekends away and baking.
Working in early years means that there are different challenges every day which I like; every day is different and I enjoy getting to know the children and parents. In my spare time I like socialising and shopping.
Pre School Room Leader
Over the years I have worked as a nanny, in schools, as 1 to 1 support with children with autism. I ran Polruan Pre School for 7 years and have worked here since 2009. I love working with families, particularly supporting children and parents with the preparation and transition to school. I have two grown up children, a husband and a dog.
I am currently studying for a Foundation Degree in ‘Children’s & Young People’s Workforce’. I enjoy supporting children’s development and helping them in achieving each milestone. In 2012 I travelled to Kenya in Africa to join a volunteer project to work in, set up and open a new children’s nursery. I like to go for walks to the beach or the woods with my daughter in my spare time.
Baby Room Leader & SENCO
I have been here since 2011 and during my first year I completed my NVQ Level 3 in Childcare. I love watching all the children grow and develop throughout their time at nursery, especially in the baby room when they reach special milestones like saying their first word or taking their first step. I enjoy getting outside with my dogs and going for walks, particularly to the beach. I also spend some of my spare time drawing.
Teacher & SENCO
I enjoy helping the children to reach the different stages of their development, creating different activities and joining in with their fun. In my spare time I like to go for walks and swimming with my daughter and go to yoga.
It is so rewarding to work with children and every day is different. I really enjoy thinking of new and exciting activities to try.
I also like reading, baking, walking the dog, swimming and spending time with friends.
Toddler Room Leader
I love watching the children grow and develop and supporting them to reach their learning and development goals. I go to the gym in my spare time and like to socialise with my friends.
Working in early years is very fulfilling because of the impact we have on the children’s learning and development. I love supporting the children in working towards new challenges and achieving their next steps. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and horses.
I have been cooking for 22 years and was a pastry chef at Lanhydrock for the last 10 years before cooking at Nurtured. I enjoy running, cycling and coastal walks with my dog.
